In winter, Snowbowl offers 777 acres of skiable terrain, a 2, 300 ft. vertical drop, and 8 lifts - including a high-speed 6-pack and a high-speed gondola/chair combination lift - all within 30 minutes of Downtown Flagstaff, 1.5 hours from the Grand Canyon, and 2.5 hours from the Phoenix Metro. With one of the highest base and summit elevations in the U.S. (9, 300 ft. and 11, 500 ft. respectively), and 260" of average annual snowfall, Snowbowl offers a long winter season that typically spans from November to late April or early May. Robust beginner programs and a wide range of learning terrain make it super easy for first timers to pick up skiing and snowboarding without breaking the bank. In summer, enjoy spectacular views of Arizona's six major biomes spanning from desert to tundra as you travel up to 11, 500 ft. on the scenic gondola. At the top, a short hiking trail offers access to an observation point in the alpine tundra environment and interpretive talks are offered on weekends to provide a glimpse into the geological and cultural history of the San Francisco Peaks. At the base area, enjoy relaxed mountain dining at the full-service Agassiz Restaurant and fun summer activities for kids including the bungee trampoline and summer tubing hill.
